ABOUT THE PRODUCTION
This production of Reject Me, Already is part production, part workshop! We are seeking actors, singers, and performers who are interested in developing a piece of completely new and entirely original theatre through experimentation, collaboration, and workshopping.
What does this mean?
Throughout the process, things might change. Scenes might be rewritten; songs may be tweaked, changed, or cut; blocking and choreography might be altered if it isn't working. This process will be built on collaboration, experimentation, and development. And, of course, lots of fun!
If being an integral part of developing a new musical excites you, we hope you'll consider auditioning!

CHARACTER BREAKDOWNS
Reject Me, Already thrives when the characters within are accurately represented. Our process encourages diverse and body positive casting.
WINSTON WALLER — Lead; Bari-tenor — Playing age 27; (25-35)
Male presenting. An awkward, self-conscious, yet kind-hearted and charming man with a big heart. Winston is a hopeless romantic desperate to find the love of his life, who hasn’t had much luck in relationships. He struggles to articulate himself, often turning to music to express the emotions he wishes he could convey through words. He’s a Star Trek enthusiast with a passion for Laserdiscs, pepperoni pizza, and the band Chicago. Winston is a pianist and composer. Light piano ability is preferred, but not required. Heavier-set. Falls in love with Chloe.
CHLOE CARTER — Lead; Mezzo-Soprano, Strong Mix/Belt — Playing age 27; (25-35)
Female presenting. Burned by a series of bad dates, Chloe has grown weary of the dating game. But underneath her skeptical, guarded heart is a hopeless romantic longing to find her “someone.” She has a charming sense of humor, and a resilient spirit. To those she lets in, Chloe is kind, open-minded, and thoughtful. Her passions for reading, violin, corny jokes, Barry Manilow, and pickles get her through the day. Chloe is a violinist. Violin ability not required. Falls in love with Winston.
EDGAR — Supporting; Baritone — Playing age 27; (25-35)
Male presenting. Winston’s best friend, a Tetris fiend, and fiancée to Rosie. He is supportive, sweet, and fiercely loyal, and he cares deeply for those he loves. He’s the friend everyone wants, and the friend everyone wishes they could be. Edgar has accepted a new job across the country, which will take him away from his best friend and the only life he’s ever known.
ROSIE — Supporting; Alto — Playing age 27; (25-35)
Female presenting. Winston’s best friend, an avid reader, and fiancée to Edgar. She’s a witty, sharp, overprotective firecracker who isn’t afraid to say what everyone else is thinking. Her “tough love” approach is fueled by a deep love and affection for those she cares about: never cruel, always kind. Underneath her blunt attitude is a generous, thoughtful, and supportive friend and partner.
CHARLIE — Featured; Tenor — 27-34
Male presenting. Chloe’s older brother. Charlie is a well-meaning (though misguided) sibling, who often lacks the gentle support Chloe is looking for. He cares for Chloe very much, and only wants the best for her – even when he tries to hide behind his gruff exterior.
WAITER — Supporting; Alto/Tenor — 25+
An excitable hopeless romantic who takes an active and hilarious interest in Chloe and Winston’s blossoming relationship. The Waiter tries to play matchmaker as much as possible, and aid in Winston and Chloe’s love story.
FIONA — Featured — 25-31
Female presenting. Winston’s blind date that sets the story into motion. An obnoxious, entitled lawyer with a pension for wine and weightlifting.
GREG — Ensemble — 27-31
Male presenting. An old classmate of Winston’s, and Chloe’s coworker. He is rude, careless, and only cares about furthering his career and social status. Plays the Viola. Viola ability not required.
CINDY — Ensemble — 27-31
Female presenting. Chloe’s boss. An overworked and underpaid musical director at the end of her rope. Cindy is a violinist. Violin ability not required.
ENSEMBLE
The MANAGER of a local restaurant.
A cellist, SYLVIA, who is unamused by the antics of her coworkers.
Various BYSTANDERS, DANCERS, restaurant PATRONS, Portland COMMUTERS, HAPPY COUPLES, etc.
